Description
Two koumiyya daggers, Morocco, 20th century
Curved, double-edged steel blade with gendarme-hat spindle and scabbard with octagonal flowered side attachments and bud stinger. The scabbard is entirely trimmed with silver and brass plates with embossed and engraved vegetal and geometric decoration, enhanced with coloured enamels, niello motifs and two green plastic cabochons. The side attachments are fitted with suspension rings. The second, a blond horn spindle dagger with silver trim at the ends, the scabbard entirely silver-plated with engraved vegetal and geometric decoration. Ram head hallmark.
Length with scabbard: 44.5 and 41 cm
Slightly damaged and missing, minor soldering on one.
