Candlestick, Ottoman Empire, probably Anatolia, 19th century
Candlestick with a narrowed truncated cone-shaped base surmounted by a cylindrical shaft and truncated cone-shaped spout, in copper alloy with engraved decoration of fleurons and foliage with bifid palmettes, inscribed in cartouches and medallions on the main register of the base, arranged in friezes on the rest of the candlestick.
Height: 20 cm; base diameter: 19.2 cm
Slight deformations, small crack at the base, small perforation in the bob.
Provenance :
Former collection of Michael Pacha Portakalian (1842-1897), high official at the court of Sultan Abdulhamid II, then by descent.
