Dish with floral decoration, Ottoman Turkey, Kütahya, early 19th century
A circular, hollow dish in siliceous ceramic with floral decoration painted in polychrome under a transparent glaze of intertwining stems of tulips and carnations. The border is outlined with a blue band and the back with alternating floral stems and rosettes.
Diameter: 25 cm
Hanging hole in the heel, small chips around the edge.
Provenance :
Former collection of Michael Pacha Portakalian (1842-1897), high official at the court of Sultan Abdulhamid II, then by descent.
