Two silver mirrors, Ottoman Empire, early 20th century
Embossed and chased silver mirrors. The first of circular poly-lobed form decorated with the Ottoman coat of arms surmounted by a crescent moon embracing a medallion decorated with a tughra which seems to be that of Mehmet V (r. 1909-1918). Mark 900 and suspension chain. The second, in the form of a leaf with floral decoration and a lyre in a medallion, with a handle.
First diameter: 22.2 cm; second length: 31.3 cm; total weight: 1437 g
Minor dents, restorations on the second with a damaged and pitted glass.
