SAMSON, Emile (1837-1913), large Iznik-style dish, late 19th - early 20th century
A large deep dish with a scalloped rim, in enamelled earthenware with floral decoration of tulip stems and interspersed rosettes, a frieze of waves and stylised rocks running along the rim. On the back, alternating rosettes and spirals painted on the rim and the monogram "S", Samson's mark, under the base.
