Two pages from the same album, Narasimha and Parashurama, North India, Rajasthan, or Madhya Pradesh, early 19th century Two paintings in gouache, gold and silver on paper, the first depicting Narasimha, the 4th avatar of Vishnu, half-man half-lion, killing the demon Hiranyakashipu while his son Prahlada looks on. The scene takes place on the terrace of a pavilion in the presence of a woman. The second depicts a duel between the god Krishna and Parashurama, the sixth avatar of Vishnu. The scene takes place in a landscape, with an old man lying at the foot of a seated woman and a gopi in the background. Frame. Sight size: 24 x 15.7 cm Small stains.
