Description
Two calligraphies from the same muraqqa album, Iran qâjâr, 19th century, signed Calligraphies on paper in Persian nasta'liq shekasteh in black ink in reserves on an illuminated gold background. The first consists of 6 horizontal lines followed by the name of the calligrapher Gholam Khaneh [?] Mohammad Hassan Jalayir [?] and the date 1272 AH / 1855, with gold-illuminated palmettes and foliage all around; the second consists of several oblique and horizontal lines followed by the signature of the same calligrapher on the last line. Mounted on album pages on mauve card with pink and green borders. Size of calligraphies: 19.4 x 11.9 cm and 18.6 x 8.5 cm; size of pages: 29.7 x 18.3 cm Wear, stains and minor accidents. A third calligraphy, possibly from the same album with its mauve margins, of 14 lines of Hadith in naskhi Arabic in black ink in oblique reserves on a gold background dated 1245 H / 1829, dim. calligraphy: 19.7 x 9.2 cm; dim. page: 29.7 x 18.3 cm, heavy wear.
