Set of three pairs of wood panels, Iran, early 20th century
Six panels of painted, gilded and lacquered wood that can be assembled in pairs, perhaps formerly the leaves of a mirror or small piece of furniture. One pair depicts a man and a woman standing in front of a window, the woman holding a glass in her hand, food placed on the window and in the foreground a cat and two ducks. A gol-o-bolbol floral design on the back within an arcature with a white background. The next two pairs represent an arcature, one with a green background, the other with a yellow background, decorated with a floral bouquet emerging from a vase placed in a ceramic bowl and filled with birds.
