Description
Set of three pairs of wood panels, Iran, early 20th century Six panels of painted, gilded and lacquered wood that can be assembled in pairs, perhaps formerly the leaves of a mirror or small piece of furniture. One pair features figurative decorations of men and women standing or seated on thrones in medallions, beneath a crowned head flanked by wings, the back decorated with a gol-o-bolbol decoration in an arcature with a yellow background. The other two pairs represent on both sides a gol-o-bolbol floral composition under an arcature or in a medallion with a white or coloured background. Panel dimensions of each pair: 70.8 x 22.4 cm; 76 x 22.1 cm; 71 x 21.8 cm Wear, traces of fittings and hinges, cracks, minor accidents.
