Set of three pairs of wood panels, Iran, early 20th century
Six panels of painted, gilded and lacquered wood that can be assembled in pairs, perhaps formerly the leaves of a mirror or small piece of furniture. One pair features figurative decorations of men and women standing or seated on thrones in medallions, beneath a crowned head flanked by wings, the back decorated with a gol-o-bolbol decoration in an arcature with a yellow background. The other two pairs represent on both sides a gol-o-bolbol floral composition under an arcature or in a medallion with a white or coloured background.
