[Boulangism] Georges Boulanger (1837–1891), a general and former Minister of War in exile, and the National Republican Committee Set of 32 autograph letters written and signed, 1887–1890, written by General Boulanger and addressed to Charles Ange Laisant (1841–1920), a politician and member of the Union Républicaine, who was a Boulangist from 1880, then a Dreyfusard, before becoming an anarchist in 1893 An interesting collection of private and intimate correspondence from General Boulanger, revealing him as a political strategist (the 1889 general election and the 1890 local elections) and illustrating theactivities of the National Republican Committee, founded in March 1888 and dissolved in May 1890, led by General Boulanger from his exile in London and later in Jersey with his mistress Marguerite de Bonnemains, having been sentenced to life imprisonment for conspiracy against the State.
