In the interests of impartiality, the four main political factions of the time (Republicans, Monarchists, Bonapartists and Boulangists) were each allocated a page on which their respective ‘popular images’ were reproduced. The fourth page features Boulangism. Glücq combines a portrait on horseback, two vignettes, a kaleidoscope of Boulangist figures and an illustrated ‘General’s Game of the Goose’.
