[Books] [Janin (Jules)] Debureau [JANIN (Jules)]. Deburau. *History of the Four-Sous Theatre*, a sequel to *History of the Théâtre-Français*. Paris, Gosselin, 1832. In-8, red morocco, double gilt fillet, decorated ribbed spine, the initials ‘VM’ repeated between the ribs, internal tooth, blue moiré lining and endpapers, double endpapers of marbled paper, gilt edges on marbled paper (Contemporary binding.) A very rare first edition, illustrated with two portraits and an engraved title page, and six vignettes within the text. Printed in a run of only 25 copies. One of the 12 copies on Annonay vellum, no. 4. A fine copy bearing the monogram and coat of arms of the 5th Prince of Essling, Victor Massena (1836–1910). Without the out-of-text illustrations. A few rare pinholes. A tear on the flyleaf.
