First edition of this collection of 31 (out of 32) original erotic compositions (including the title page and colophon), in black and red chalk, some with annotations, by the painter and engraver Lobel-Riche. Printed in an edition of 50 copies on Arches vellum (and a few on Japon paper), hand-verified with pen and signed by the artist at the end of the preface. This is no. 40. One plate is missing. A tear on the spine of the cover, and a small tear on the back cover. Provenance: Bibliothèque de la Vallée du Rhône.
