Gold necklace and tiara – India, c.1960. An Indian necklace and tiara in 14-carat gold, featuring numerous white cultured pearls. It is rare for its ingenious design, comprising 15 interlinked elements, each adorned with numerous white cultured pearls. This hinged system, known as ‘Dori’ in Indian jewellery-making, allows the necklace to be adjusted to fit around the neck or worn as a headband.
