Description
Paul STORR (1771–1844), silversmith A lidded vegetable dish and stand in 925 silver, oblong in shape, the body decorated with a frieze alternating palmettes, the lid with a flat base marked "TOUJOURS PREST" and decorated with interlaced leaves, the rim in the shape of a stylised tulip. The handles of the stand are decorated with palmette leaves ending in scrolls, four claw feet. London hallmark featuring a lion passant turned to the left. Hallmarks: Crowned fool for London before 1820 / date letter U for the year 1815. Silversmith’s mark: letters “PS” for Paul STORR (1771–1844). And numbered “496” beneath the vegetable dish. Gross weight: 1042.1 g
