Description
A mismatched set of 950 silver cutlery comprising: - One serving spoon, one spoon and three forks: single-plate design, with four of them featuring spatulas engraved with a radiant saint within a mandorla, and one featuring a coat of arms with facing lions. Silversmith’s hallmark: I with three vertical dots and D for Joseph Dulaurier, who became a master silversmith in 1778; a crowned cow hallmark for Pau (circa 1780–1785); an unidentified countermark: a crowned B. - A single-bladed spoon, the bowl engraved with a radiant saint within a mandorla. Master silversmith’s mark B. SAMSON for Barthélémy Samson (admitted in 1757); probable discharge mark: three ermines beneath a crown (difficult to read). - Two spoons and two forks, uniplat model, the blades formerly engraved with coats of arms (illegible). Master’s mark engraved twice per piece: IAA with two grains of medicine. Total weight: 884 g
