A pair of Louis XV-period armchairs stamped ‘BLANCHARD’, in moulded and carved wood, with a fresh coat of paint, featuring scroll decoration, console-style armrests and curved legs. Stamped ‘N BLANCHARD’ on one armchair. (Paint flaking, upholstery reupholstered) H: 88 cm – W: 63 cm – D: 62 cm. Jean-Nicolas Blanchard (1730–1787), known as ‘the Younger’. Became a master craftsman on 12 June 1771.
