Description
FRANCE – Second Empire. BAYONET for the Chassepot rifle, 15-rib cast brass shank, metal guard with a curved quillon. Yatagan-style blade with a flat back and wide blood groove. Steel sheet scabbard. Bayonet and scabbard bear the same serial number, AB30371. Inspection marks are present and clearly visible. Manufactured by the Châtellerault Arms Factory in July 1873. Length: 70 cm. Blade: 57.5 cm.
