Light cavalry officer’s sabre; guard in the shape of a brass branch; guard plates adorned with heads of Minerva in profile, quillon in the shape of an animal’s head, pommel in the shape of a lion’s head, ebony tang with a chequered pattern; curved blade with a tang ending in a counter-edge; brass scabbard decorated with cartouches depicting a trophy, a battle of hussars, and the thunderbolts of the General Staff; the lower section is adorned with an urn and a lyre, two beaded bracelets engraved with laurel wreaths framedwith cobwebs; the back is adorned with stars along its entire length, whilst the upper section around the lug is embellished with a frieze of flowers
