Hunter’s sabre of the Imperial Guard, hilt in the style of a chiselled gilded brass model, the tang entirely in filigree, the Emperor’s head on the pommel has been reattached; unsigned blade, probably from Solingen, engraved, blued and gilded, one-third of the way down marked on one side ‘CHASSEURS A PIEDS’ and on the other ‘GARDE IMPERIALE’; above the inscriptions, the imperial ‘N’ within a laurel wreath and the crowned eagle; leather scabbard with two modern brass fittings
