A fine little belt plate for a senior officer or general, perhaps for a sword belt, rectangular in shape and made of silver, decorated in the centre with an antique-style trophy of arms in gilded brass, the rim adorned, within a recessed groove, with a border of gilded foliage; the reverse covered in red morocco leather; 70 x 46 mm. (A few stains on the morocco leather). Probably from the Consulate period. Very good condition. PROVENANCE: OSENAT auction, NOISIEZ collection, 19 November 2023, lot no. 114.
