Oriental-style sabre, hilt cast from a single piece of brass, engraved on the front guard with an ‘N’ surrounded by two laurel branches; flat, curved blade in the style of those used by the Mamluks, stampedat a later date, signed on the back “Mf ture Imp le du Klingenthal Coulaux frères” (apocryphal engraving); wide iron scabbard with three lozenge-shaped brass fittings; the pommel is engraved in the centre with a crowned eagle holding a staff of war in its talons; total length 94 cm
