A fine officer’s sword, with a gilded brass guard featuring a branch and quillon, two large donkey-hoof pommels, a double plate edged with a reinforcing band, a rounded pommel with four faces, and a fully filigree-worked tang; a slender yet sturdy blade with a lozenge-shaped cross-section and a fuller at the heel, marked on both sides: ‘TOLEDO’; length 115 cm. (Without scabbard).
Date: late 17th century, early 18th century. Very good condition.
