Heavy single-barrelled hunting rifle, centre-fire, external hammer, Snider system, breech-loading; Damascus steel barrel tobacco-coloured band bearing a partially legible inscription on the top: “P. WEBLEY & SON LONDON”, length 80.5 cm, calibre 19.5 mm; blued breech, small powder flask, marked: “SNIDER PATENT”; burnished front trigger guard, engraved with a fret pattern, marked: “P. WEBLEY & SON”; iron fittings engraved with a fluted pattern, also burnished; walnut stock with a short butt, checkered on the grip and butt, oval silver thumb rest; total length 131 cm. Period, Great Britain, c. 1860–1880. Good condition. WEBLEY & SON Philip, Birmingham, 1859–1897.
