Two pencil drawings enhanced with gouache and ink, they depict the islands of Norway; one can make out snow-capped peaks by the sea and fishing villages, one of which features a sailing steamer moored at the quay; they are documentedand dated in the bottom left-hand corner: one dated 14 June 1855, the other depicting the island of Seiland off the coast of Alta, in Fummark County, dated 28 July 1854; frames with burl veneer and mountings covered in beige canvas; 19 x 41 cm and 19.5 x 39.5 cm. (A few pinholes). Second Empire period. Good condition.
