Description
Four engravings, one of which is a watercolour, dated 25 Frimaire, Year VIII: BONAPARTE addressing the troops, 19 Brumaire, Saint-Cloud. Appointed on the same day as one of the three provisional Consuls, and subsequently elected First Consul of the Republic under the new constitution on 22 Frimaire; 39 x 29 cm; the second, a watercolour: NAPOLEON, EMPEROR OF THE FRENCH, having found in Potsdam Palace the sword of Frederick the Great, his general’s belt, his Black Eagle cord and his ruff.
