# Vendémiaire Year XII model staff officer’s sabre. Fluted ebony hilt (crack). Chiselled, copper-plated brass mountings. Flat pommel engraved with a small flower. Guard with a single openwork branch, body knot featuring antique-style trophies. Half-guards in a palmette design. Curved quillon decorated with a lion’s mask motif. Curved blade with a flat back, entirely decorated in the damascene style, adorned on each side with a blued medallion featuring a trophy of arms. Gilded pommel, engraved with a trophy of arms on one side and signed ‘Frères Weyersberg’ on the other. Scabbard of re-blued sheet iron, with two copper-plated brass bands decorated with a guilloché cartouche. Pommel engraved with foliage (signs of wear). Iron pommel, decorated with scrolls (pitting).
