Long flintlock saddle pistol. Round, faceted barrel with a slightly flared muzzle. Firing mechanism hallmarked Saint-Étienne with a flat-bodied hammer. Iron pan with a large spark guard. Cut-out iron fittings. Pommel with long ‘ears’. Long-stocked walnut buttstock, decorated with a diamond-shaped thumb rest. Wooden ramrod with an iron ferrule. Standard A.B.E. markings. Circa 1740–1750 (old notch on the stock, later-fitted hammer).
