# Autograph letter from Élisa BONAPARTE (1777–1820), Napoleon’s sister, to her brother Lucien, in response to an autograph letter from her daughter, signed LETITIA NAPOLÉON (Élisa Napoléone Baciocchi) Trieste, 1 February 1818, one page. Following Letitia’s New Year’s greetings to her uncle, Élisa writes: “My dear Lucien, my right eye is causing me such pain that I can neither read nor write. I send my New Year’s greetings to you, to my sister-in-law, and to all your children. I am living a very happy and peaceful life; my whole little family is doing splendidly. The Prince sends his regards; do think of me from time to time, and know that I am thinking of you with all my affection”. An engraving of Élisa Bonaparte is enclosed.
