Black calfskin, smooth spine, lace, title and the gilded coat of arms of Edward VIII of England. Moiré lining and endpapers (publisher’s binding) Included is “POSITIONS OF THE FRENCH AND BRITISH FLEETS in the Solent from 7 to 9 August 1905”. London, published by the Admiralty, 1 August 1905. Full-colour folio-sized map (water stains). The Solent is the name of the strait separating the Isle of Wight from mainland Britain, where the encounter between the two fleets took place.
