BELGIUM, 19th century, infantry officer’s sabre, blade with a chiselled steel back marked ‘Pour le roi et la patrie’ (‘For King and Country’), three-pronged guard and gilt-bronze pommel, decorated with flowers and laurel leaves, wooden grip covered with brass filigree, iron scabbard, in good overall condition (wear and tear, slight oxidation), blade length approx. 86 cm, total length approx. 103 cm.
