Description
Delhaxhe ‘Apache’ pin-blade pocket revolver, six-shot, 7 mm calibre, double-action. Hollowed-out cylinder, with traces of gilding. Frame and grip in brass, chiselled with foliage scrollwork, with traces of silver plating. Dagger blade with a central ridge and a locking notch, folding along the frame. Frame stamped ‘J.DELHAXHE BREVETE’, ‘55’ and ‘AP’. The trunnion is missing. Length when closed: 12 cm - Length with blade: 18.5 cm A.B.E. Circa 1870–1880. Joseph Deleaxhe or Delhaxe, gunsmith and inventor in Liège and Paris in 1870. Belgian patent for a ‘ballroom’ revolver pistol; the same French patent is entitled ‘stunning dagger revolver’. - Expert: Arnaud de Gouvion Saint-Cyr
