Description
A pair of Mameluke service pistols from the Imperial Guard. Flintlock mechanisms, one of which has been converted to percussion. Flat stocks marked with the Versailles manufacturer’s mark. Barrelles with rifling then smoothbore, signed ‘ENTRE BOUTET’ on the upper sections and hallmarks on the breeches. Oxidation, minor damage to the wood, missing the trigger guard and hammer screw. The flintlock mechanism is in good working order; the second one does not hold the hammer in the cocked position. Total length: 33.5 cm. France, First Empire period.
