A set of two side-by-side shotguns, including a Charlin ‘Sologne’ fixed-barrelled shotgun, in a tan leather and wood case containing, in addition to the shotgun, various documents (certificate, test report, repair invoice from Charlin, etc.) along with two barrels in their original bores. One 620 mm smooth-bore barrel with a half-choke and one 7204 mm barrel with two full chokes. Both barrels are bored to 18 and bear the same number as the shotgun (80030). Finished in grey tempered steel, with a chequered pattern on the trigger guard and hammers; the side plates are marked ‘SOLOGNE’ on one side and ‘LITTORAL’ on the other. Five stars are stamped on each side of the side plate. English-style checkered walnut stock with a 385 mm long Bakelite buttplate. Mechanism in working order, beautiful patina; the stock is more modern than the fore-end, which is darker and more worn. Mechanism in working order (Condition 1) Also included is a Belgian side-by-side shotgun with flat hammers and hammer-operated ejectors.
