A fine 18th-century Knight’s Cross of the Order of Saint Louis, in gold and enamel. A rounded, domed centre, set upon the side arms. Inscription on the obverse: Lud. M. Inst. 1693. Inscription on the reverse: Bel. Virtutis. Praem. Four arms without pommels, flanked by four fleurs-de-lis. Very fine enamel work. A loop for the ribbon pierced through the centre of the cross. Oval ring with two strands, with its moiré silk ribbon (heavily faded). Condition 1- Gross weight (including ribbon): 19.5g. 37 x 35 mm
