Description
A fine service pistol for officers, Model 1833, second type. Octagonal rifled Damascus steel barrel of regulation calibre. Front sight on a dovetail. Barrel sides marked ‘1846’ and ‘MR’ (Manufacture Royale). Screw-on breech block supporting the hammer and fitted with a fixed front sight. Oval trigger guard at the rear, marked “Manufacture Rle de Châtellerault L Dupasquier”. The gun is fitted with iron mountings. Trigger guard with finger rest. Ring-shaped cap forming a stopper for the powder chamber (powder pan missing). Iron ramrod with a brass ferrule. Superb varnished walnut stock with a checkered grip. A few very minor cracks between the lock body and the trigger guard on the right, and between the breech block and the rear plate on the left. Mechanism in working order. Condition 1-
