Third Republic-era Chasseurs officer’s sabre. Lenticular-section blade with two offset grooves, 1882-type infantry officer’s sabre, unmarked. Scabbard with two straps (damaged). Blade tip slightly damaged. Fine chiselled gilded bronze mount, with a long-tailed cap featuring floral decoration. Upper surface of the pommel in a radiating melon-shell pattern. Main guard branch adorned with a beaded ring at its centre. Openwork plate decorated with a hunter’s horn and an oak branch. Quillon curled forwards in the shape of a fern frond. Filigree-worked pale horn tang. Condition 2
