Description
1822 model cavalry sabre. Marked on the back of the blade: ‘Coulaux et Compagnie Klingenthal’. A slender, curved blade 885 mm long, with a flat back, two hollows and two double-sided fuller grooves. Dark, filigree-patterned horn pommel. Brass mountings; short-tailed, beaded pommel; guard with one main branch and two curved secondary branches decorated with floral motifs. The guard plate ends in a beak curved forwards. Comes in a sheet steel scabbard with a fastening ring. (Condition 2+)
