Description
A glass-fronted frame containing a Restoration-period unbleached silk cloth (appraised by Ms Véronique Castagnié) on which are painted the Great Arms of France in polychrome: three gold fleurs-de-lis on a crowned blue orb, surrounded by the Grand Cordon of the Holy Spirit and highlighted by two crossed palms tied with the cord. The frame also contains a large white moiré armband finished with fringes of loose cannetille passementerie in a small bouillon stitch. A beautiful ensemble evocative of the Restoration of the Monarchy. Condition 1 –
