Condition report: Canvas not mounted on stretcher Michelle is the youngest daughter of Clifford Possum. Like her older sister Gabriella Michelle paints the country and stories of her father's mother Long Rose Nungala. She takes a topographical view of the land. The land is alive with dreamy trails that are followed at certain times of the year to harvest edible plants. She shows yams, berries, fruits and other vegetables that are harvested by the women of the tribe, usually by digging in the bush. The women are depicted in a U-shape as they perform ceremonies to thank the earth for the food it gives them. The painting is signed, titled and dated on the back by the artist.
