Description
Ghostbusters – The Real Ghostbusters Based on the work of Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis Slimer, Agon and Ray Stantz 3 hand-painted celluloids accompanied by original dogas from the same sequence, used in the production of the animated series Celluloids executed in ink and gouache Key frames drawn in graphite and coloured pencils Produced by DiC Entertainment and Columbia Pictures Television, 1986–1991, USA H 26.5–22.5 cm and W 26.5–31.5 cm Creases and missing sections This lot is the property of an employee of Francois Epin Auction. An animated sequel to the 1984 film, the series owes its ‘Real’ to a naming dispute: another studio, Filmation, was already using ‘Ghostbusters’ for its own production. Slimer, the green, drooling glutton from the film, became so popular that the series was renamed *Slimer! and The Real Ghostbusters* in 1988: he went from being a monster to a mascot. Surrounding him is a menagerie of spectres, demons and giant insects, often introduced by episode titles that parody the cinema.
