Muramasa is one of the main antagonists in the anime Bleach. He is the instigator of the Zanpakutō rebellion in the ‘Zanpakutō: The Alternate Tale’ arc, a filler arc often appreciated for its original concept featuring the spirits of the Zanpakutō in physical form. A sword spirit and antagonist in an arc entirely invented for the anime. His name comes from a famous katana smith; legend has it that his blades are cursed and bloodthirsty, in contrast to those of his rival, Masamune.
