Early 19th-century French school Portrait of Lieutenant-General the Count of Harville with his horse Watercolour on paper. H_ 21 cm W_ 15.5 cm Annotated on the reverse, with a 19th-century framer’s label. In an Empire-style wooden and gilded stucco frame. This work depicts Louis-Auguste Jouvenel des Ursins d’Harville (1749– 1815). At the beginning of the Empire, he was Empress Joséphine’s chief equerry.
