PERSIA, late 19th–early 20th century An exceptional, large, fine and antique Kirman Raver (from the village of Raver near Kirman, pronounced ‘Laver’) High-quality, silky wool pile on a cotton backing Ivory field featuring a ‘thousand flowers’ motif in the form of stylised sheaves and basins, richly adorned with flowers and finely drawn in pastel shades, arranged in a pattern of scattered diamonds with a palette of various blues.
