A straight-sided chest of drawers with a curved front in violet wood veneer, featuring four rows of five drawers with walnut inlays, two of which are in the first row. The top features extensive decoration of rosettes and diamond points. The front panel comprises four central and eight side panels. The sides are inlaid with lozenges set against a background of straight-grained wood. The upright sides, the front ones being rounded, rest on small feet. Gilded bronze fittings: moulded lock case, drop handles with dolphin motifs, lock plates and an applied shell-shaped shoe. Paris. Louis XIV period
