On the reverse, a certificate on letterhead from the Milon-Ferret framing firm in Bordeaux, certifying, on 10
September 1930: “that this drawing was sold to me by the descendants of the Fragonard family and that it formed
part of an album of drawings executed by Alexandre Fragonard”.
Provenance:
- Remained in the artist’s family until his great-grandson Jacques, who settled in Gironde in the 1920s.
- Acquired, most likely from the latter, by Mr Milon-Ferret, a framer in Bordeaux
- Acquired from him by the former owner’s grandfather
