Born in Venice in the mid-19th century, Alessandro Milesi was a pupil of Napoleon
Nani. He mainly produced portraits and genre scenes. His
modern compositions and free brushwork were notably inspired by the work
of Ettore Tito, Giacomo Favretto and Cesare Laurenti. After several exhibitions
in Italy, he was awarded the gold medal at the 1890 Boston International Exhibition.
