Description
Georg LAMPE (1858–1916) Portrait of a clergyman Oil on canvas. Dimensions: H_150 cm W_103 cm Vertical stripes Signed, located and dated in the top right-hand corner “Georg Lampe | Roma 1895”. A German painter of portraits and landscapes, Georg Lampe began his training at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under Hugo Crola, Heinrich Lauenstein and Peter Janssen. He then joined the studio of Franz von Lenbach in Munich before settling for a time in Berlin, where he exhibited at the Academy.
