Papua New Guinea, Earthenware pot known as a ‘sago pot’ A coil-built pot, decorated with a relief depiction of a hen’s head, highlighted with white and black pigments. This type of vase is used to store sago flour amongst the Iatmul people of the Middle Sepik region, Papua New Guinea. Larger examples can be found at the Quai Branly Museum, some featuring a chicken’s head, others a pig’s head. H.: 14 cm
