BRUNO DI BELLO (1938-2019) "Cielo Colour lithograph on paper, signed in pencil by the artist, dated and justified 97/100 at bottom centre. Size: 70 x 80 cm - An Italian painter and photographer born in Torre del Greco, Di Bello was one of the representatives of "Mec-Art" and a founding member of the "Gruppo 58". He trained at the Naples Academy of Fine Arts and began exhibiting in 1958, forming the eponymous "Gruppo 58" with his friends Castellano, Palumbo, Biasti and Del Pezzo. This group of artists, which revolved around Castellano, known as Luca, identified with the themes of Enrico Baj's Nuclear Art, their promoter and supporter. The importance of the Gruppo 58 in the history of the neo-avant-garde is clearly demonstrated by the number of signatories to this document, including Sanguineti, Sordini, Recalcati, Balestrini, Paolazzi and many others, not only artists but also writers and critics.
